About Me

Paweł Kuźma is a classical guitarist, educator, composer, and ensemble director with over 15 years of international teaching and performing experience. He holds two Master’s degrees in Guitar Performance, having studied with Prof. Alina Gruszka at the Karol Szymanowski Academy of Music in Katowice, Poland, and with Dr. Jukka Savijoki at the Sibelius Academy in Helsinki, Finland.Since 2016, Paweł has taught at the American University in Cairo, offering courses in classical guitar, music theory, ethnomusicology, ensemble performance, and contemporary music. He is known for blending rigorous technique with cross-cultural understanding and creative exploration.As a soloist and ensemble musician, he has performed throughout Europe, North Africa, and the United States. From 2017 to 2025, he co-directed the Cairo Guitar Collective, and from 2017 to 2023, the experimental ensemble Cairo Impro. Both groups focused on new music, interdisciplinary collaboration, free improvisation, and educational projects. His artistic work has been supported by grants from the European Union, the Polish Ministry of Culture, and the American University in Cairo.From 2025, Paweł is based in Hanoi, Vietnam, where he offers private lessons, masterclasses, and concerts for a wide range of audiences.

Teaching, Performance and Commissions

Private lessonsPaweł offers one-on-one classical guitar lessons online and in person for students of all levels — from beginners to advanced performers and teachers. His teaching emphasizes sound quality, musical interpretation, technique, artistic development and methodology of teaching. Lessons are tailored to each student’s goals and experience.Lessons can include:

  • Classical guitar technique and repertoire

  • Performance preparation

  • Musical expression and stage presence

  • Sight-reading, theory, and ear training

  • Teaching methodology

Standard rate: $25/hour. Different length lessons available upon request.


Concerts & Lecture-RecitalsPaweł offers a variety of concert programs tailored for cultural institutions, schools, and festivals. These programs may include:

  • Classical solo guitar repertoire

  • World music — exploring musical traditions from cultures around the globe

  • Contemporary works and new commissions

  • Themed lecture-recitals that combine live music with educational storytelling

Masterclasses & WorkshopsPaweł designs custom workshops and masterclasses on classical guitar, ensemble performance, free improvisation, and artistic development.
